Paper Pieced Perfect Blend with Stampin' Up! Retiring In Colors

Oooh you are loving the RETIRING LISTS (link on Right Hand Side) - thank you to everyone who has ordered so far - some items are already SOLD OUT so if you think you NEED something then don't delay for too long.

And so on to today's card - I am pleased that the Perfect Blend stamp set has made it to the new 2014/15 Annual Catalogue (launches on 1 July 2014) however the 2012-14 In Colors are going. I have used Midnight Muse Core'dinations, Crumb Cake and Whisper White on this card.

I stamped the cup image on Crumb Cake using Black StazOn ink and then also on Whisper White and a paper from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack. I then cut out the lid and cup holder and paper pieced them onto the Crumb Cake image.

The background was embossed using the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder. The banners were cut using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. The card was finished with ribbon (Midnight Muse Stitched Satin & Whisper White Baker's Twine) and Pearl Basic Jewels.

I am really pleased with how this has turned out - shame I am not drinking coffee at the moment!

Triple Time Stamping with Stampin' Up! Creative Elements

Triple Time Stamping with Stampin' Up! Creative Elements

I haven't used the Triple Time Stamping technique for a while but I thought it would work well with this Stampin' Up! stamp set - Creative Elements. I first saw this technique a couple of years ago featured by an American Demo, Dawn Olchefske. If you check out this post you will find the card measurements I used & a quick tutorial. The colours are Rose Red, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla.

Once the images were stamped and the layers re-assembled I finished the card with some ribbons - Victoria Crochet Trim, Linen Thread and Crumb Cake Taffeta.  I think it is such an effecive technique - seriously the hardest part is cutting the layers!

Today is my Stampin' Up! Birthday - why don't you join too?

Today is my Stampin' Up! Birthday - why don't you join too?

Blimey - it is 4 years today since I joined Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator - where has time gone?  So why did I join? Well I had always loved their products and decided I NEEDED some - so I thought why not buy from myself and get discount on the products I buy?!

As it happens I have got something worth far more than discounted products - namely the most amazing friendships. In the last 4 years I have lived in 3 different houses (will be 4 by the end of the year - the joys of being an Army wife) so my crafting friends have been the one constant in my life - and to me that is priceless.

I have also met lots of lovely people at parties, classes and events whom I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing Stampin' Up! with. After all what is there not to love - fantastic quality products which all co-ordinate. And that is what makes Stampin' Up! so unique - the card matches the ink, the ribbons, the patterned paper and the embellishments. Punches and Framelits match stamp sets - it really is crafting made easy.

So if you are thinking - "sounds good - can I join?" - then yes you can! And even better - from today (Wed 28th May) until Monday 30th June you can become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator at one of two GREAT prices:

For the next month you can join at the low price of £50 (£55 product value),

The traditional starter kit priced at £99 (£130 product value) will also continue to be available.

We are about to start the pre-order period for the NEW 2014/15 Annual Catalogue - if you join now you could get your hands on lovely goodies BEFORE anyone else - including the brand new Project Life and Blendabilities!

So which option will you choose? Have a look here for more information. I am always happy to answer questions so please do contact me if you have any - 07530 368466 or email me

Stampin' Up! Card for Keeps Auction raises £8,578.47 for Coram

Stampin' Up! Card for Keeps Auction raises £8,578.47 for Coram

You might remember me telling you about Stampin' Up!'s Card for Keeps Charity Auction? Well last week marked the grand finale, as the creations from the contributing artists and celebrities finally went to auction on Ebay. The auction made for fantastic viewing with several cards triggering tense bidding wars.

In the end, it was Tom Hiddleston – star of the Marvel films – whose heart-design card fetched the highest sum, just pipping Benedict Cumberbatch’s effort by raising an incredible £2,850.

The five top-selling cards were:
Tom Hiddleston - £2,850
Benedict Cumberbatch - £2,649
John Finnemore (Radio 4) - £620.05
Karl Pilkington - £225
Joseph Fiennes - £218

These impressive sums contributed to a superb final total of £8,578.47!

All of this money will be donated to the UK’s first children’s charity, Coram. Coram transforms the lives of some of the UK’s most vulnerable children through services such as Adoption and Creative Therapies. So we think you’ll agree this is an extremely worthy cause!

The grand total raised was officially announced on 17 May at the UK Regional event in Telford, where the cheque was presented to the charity.

How great is that? I love being part of such a fabulous company who recognise the importance of community involvement.

Happy Birthday With Stampin' Up! Simply Sketched

Happy Birthday With Stampin' Up! Simply Sketched

I was very excited when I saw that Sweater Weather DSP was available on the updated CLEARANCE RACK - partly because it meant I could now share this card with you!

At first glance the Sweater Weather collection looks to contain lots of yellow & orange but I love the papers I used above - lovely subtle colours. The colours used are Early Espresso, Soft Sky and Naturals White.

The bird image and sentiment are from the Simply Sketched Stamp Set - an EXCLUSIVE hostess set available if you host a party with sales of more than £150. I cut lots of shapes using the Circles & Deco Labels Collection Framelits.  I cut the edges of a piece of Chocolate Chip card using the Tiny Wave Rotary Cutttng Blade. The card was finished with a Soft Sky Button, Linen Thread and Pearl Basic Jewels.

So have you resisted the clearance rack so far? Why! There are some great bargains there so why not pop over and have a look?

Minnie & Mickey with Stampin' Up! Punches

Minnie & Mickey with Stampin' Up! Punches

My nephew is currently enjoying his first experience of EuroDisney - what fun! I wanted to send him some extra spending money and had some Euros in my holiday wallet (as you do!). Naturally I couldn't just send it to him but need to make a card.

I decided to go for quick and simple punch art. I used the 1 3/4" Circle Punch for the head and the 1" Circle Punch for the ears. I tied a quick bow using Real Red Stitched Grosgrain for Minnie.  The sentiment is from the Simply Celebrate stamp set cut out using Word Bubble Framelits Dies (I snipped the "tail" off).  Real Red Taffeta Ribbon and Whisper White Baker's Twine finished off the card.

I made a mini envelope using the Polka Dot Parade DSP and the Envelope Punch Board (paper cut to 5" x 5" and first punch at 2 3/4") which I then stuck into the card and tied closed with more Baker's Twine.

Hopefully he will like the card - and I am sure the contents will be well received! I love EuroDisney - it seems ages since our European Stampin' Up! Convention which was held there in 2011.

Retirement Card with Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

Retirement Card with Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

I wanted to make a retirement card for my lovely GP who retires at the end of this month. As soon as I saw this week's Mojo Monday Sketch I knew which Stampin' Up! stamp set I was going to use - it had to be Lovely as a Tree.  The colours used are Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz.

I followed the sketch exactly for this one. The background was stamped using the Hardwood stamp onto Very Vanilla card.  I coloured the tree image using Stampin' Write Markers - I covered the whole tree in Pear Pizzazz and then used Old Olive to pick out certain areas. I cut the image out using the Big Shot and the Circles Collection Framelits. As I was going for a vintage look I used Core'dinations and sanded the edges.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments punched out using the Word Window punch. I finished the card with Candy Dots and Linen Thread - which seems to feature in rather a lot of my cards!

I hope he liked it and has a long and happy retirement.
