An Extra Special Birthday Card with Stampin' Up!

I had a super special card to make a couple of weeks ago - a birthday card for my lovely Mum who was 70 - she was obviously an older Mum when she had me as I can't possible be 40 something now ;-)  

I wasn't really sure where I was going with this but like the way it came together in the end. The colours I used are Real Red, Pool Party, Crumb Cake & Whisper White.

I actually stamped the number 70 using the Morning Post Numbers stamp set which is now only available on My Digital Studio. Today is from the Geometrical stamp set inked using a Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker - I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it all up. It was then popped onto a tag cut with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. 

The background is a piece of Whisper White Core'dinations (retiring) embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and sponged with Crumb Cake ink. I then layered up lots of elements - a Tea Lace Paper Doily, a floral piece of paper from the Fresh Prints DSP Stack and a slide cut using On Film Framelits. The sentiment is from Morning Meadow - an exclusive hostess stamp set.

I finished the card with Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon (retiring), Real Red Stitched Grosgrain (retiring), Linen Thread and Pearl Basic Jewels.

I know Mum loved it and hope you do too - she did tell me she has kept every card my brother and I have ever given her - that will be a big box!

Stampin' Up! UK - Bright Blossoms for Easter

So the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon was still on my desk from my last card and in my quest to actually USE my Designer Series Paper rather than just stroking it I found this one which was perfect for a quick Easter card using Stampin' Up!'s Bright Blossoms stamp set.  I coloured the images using Stampin' Write Markers (Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz & Daffodil Delight) and lined the flowers up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (have you got yours yet!)  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to create a tag and layered the image onto it. The DSP is one of the subtler designs from Gingham Garden.

I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, punched it out using the Word Window Punch and cut the cute banner using a die from the Label Card Thinlits Die. The card was finished with Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and a tiny Baker's Twine bow.

I was given a gorgeous bunch of tulips last week which inspired this card. This is using the Stampin' Up! Blessed Easter stamp. It is a Single Stamp in the Spring / Summer Catalogue and before I mounted it I carefully cut off the sentiment - now I can use it with or without the words - perfect!

I stamped the image in Basic Grey ink and coloured it using Blender Pens and Daffodil Delight and Gumball Green Ink. Lots of matting and layering - I love the Watercolour Wonder Designer Series Paper - the colours are so fresh!  You can just see the top of the tag behind the Seam Binding bow.
