Creative Elements Meets Stampin' Up Watercolour Wonder DSP

Creative Elements Meets Stampin' Up Watercolour Wonder DSP

I am sure they say "Blue and Green should never be seen" but I quite like this one!  The colours were inspired by the lovely Stampin' Up! Watercolour Wonder Designer Series Paper (Gumball Green, Island Indigo & Smoky Slate) and the design is the sketch from Mojo Monday Cahllenge 342

The stamp set used is Creative Elements - such a pretty set. I stamped the swirl in Smoky Slate and then used Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the butterfly. The zigzag paper has lots of other colours in it but the three I wanted are next to each other so I was able to trim it to fit my colour theme. I attached a piece of Stitched Satin Ribbon along a piece of card punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. I added texture to a piece of Smoky Slate card with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and finished the design with Island Indigo Baker's Twine and an In Color Dahlia in Gumball Green.

So what do you think? Blue and green acceptable together or not?

We love Stampin' Up! Demo Support!

We love Stampin' Up! Demo Support!

#weloveDS - so what is this all about then?  Well at Stampin' Up! each country has a fantastic group of staff who provide support to Demonstrators and Customers alike called Demo Support and this week we want to show our love and appreciation for the lovely people who faithfully fix our messes, clear up confusion, and pass along our opinions, all with a smile and encouragement!

I have made this card which is winging its way to Germany as you read this. I wanted to use gold as they all deserve a gold medal!  This card was a nightmare to photograph so please excuse the slightly dodgy picture but you get the gist! I created the background using a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge , VersaMark ink and heat embossing with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder, and layered on some Watercolour Wonder Designer Washi Tape and Gold Sequin Trim.

I KNOW I have said this before but I love the Just Sayin' and Word Bubbles Framelits Dies (don't forget you save 15% if you order them as a bundle). Again I embossed the phrases in Gold. The card was finished with a couple of loose sequins, matted onto Gold Foil Sheet and a Night of Navy card base.

Hopefully they will like it - and more importantly know that we really do appreciate them!

A Farewell using Stampin' Up! Chalk Talk Stamp Set

A Farewell using Stampin' Up! Chalk Talk Stamp Set

So, one of the rubbish things about being an army wife is that people are always moving and today I have to say goodbye to a fabulous friend and neighbour - and the dogs are losing their walking buddies.

Anyway I wanted to make a special card - and I happen to know that Pool Party is a favourite colour. I started with the sentiment I wanted to use from the Chalk Talk stamp set and went from there. After lots of punching (Large Oval), sponging (Crumb Cake), cutting (Banners Framelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits) and embossing (Arrows Embossing Folder) - and some ribbons (Crochet Trim, Taffeta & Linen Thread) I came up with the final design which I am really pleased with.

How cute is the little wave on the Designer Series Paper - one of the designs in I am Me.

Anyway I am pleased to report that the card went down well - as did the present! The funny thing is we had both bought each other the same thing - a huge tube of L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream - you can tell the sort of exciting things we talk about on our dog walks!!

A Stampin' Up! Seahorse from By the Tide

A Stampin' Up! Seahorse from By the Tide

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside -well the dogs do anyway so they can have a swim! I am actually further through my quest to use ALL my Stampin' Up! stamp sets than my blog posts would suggest! Today's card uses the Seahorse image from By The Tide.

I stamped the image onto Naturals White card in Early Espresso ink, added some Gorgeous Grunge splatters in Coastal Cabana, cut it out using the Ovals Collection Framelits and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink - it was then a matter of building layers! I cut a piece of Crumb Cake Core'dinations cardstock using the Apothecary Accents Framelits and sanded it slightly. The mats are cut in Early Espresso card.  I embossed a piece of Coastal Cabana card using the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I am so pleased this item will be available again in the NEW Annual Catalogue (Due out on 1 July 2014)

The card was assembled with some Gold Sequin Trim, Linen Thread and a super-cute Gold Mini Metallic Clothespin.

I am pleased with how this one turned out - although my research has shown that Seahorses like to hang onto coral or seaweed rather than swim so I probably ought to have over-stamped the fern image! What do you think?

Time and Stampin' Up! High Tide DSP wait for no one!

Time and Stampin' Up! High Tide DSP wait for no one!

Well this card ended up nothing like I intended - funny how that happens sometimes!  I used the fabulous Mojo Monday Sketch 341 as my inspiration and featured the Stampin' Up! High Tide Designer Series Paper.

I stamped World Map onto Naturals Ivory card using Crumb Cake ink and sponged the edges. Pieces of High Tide were then chopped, sponged, matted and layered using Pacific Point, Summer Starfruit and Early Espresso card. A sentiment From Teeny Tiny Sentiments was stamped onto an arrow from the Essentials Wooden Element. The banners were cut using the Banners Framelits Dies - I am not sure why I thought I didn't need these! Pieces of Burlap Ribbon and Striped Grosgrain Ribbon finish the card.

You can see more detail in this close-up picture - I love the cute boat image.
