Minnie & Mickey with Stampin' Up! Punches

Minnie & Mickey with Stampin' Up! Punches

My nephew is currently enjoying his first experience of EuroDisney - what fun! I wanted to send him some extra spending money and had some Euros in my holiday wallet (as you do!). Naturally I couldn't just send it to him but need to make a card.

I decided to go for quick and simple punch art. I used the 1 3/4" Circle Punch for the head and the 1" Circle Punch for the ears. I tied a quick bow using Real Red Stitched Grosgrain for Minnie.  The sentiment is from the Simply Celebrate stamp set cut out using Word Bubble Framelits Dies (I snipped the "tail" off).  Real Red Taffeta Ribbon and Whisper White Baker's Twine finished off the card.

I made a mini envelope using the Polka Dot Parade DSP and the Envelope Punch Board (paper cut to 5" x 5" and first punch at 2 3/4") which I then stuck into the card and tied closed with more Baker's Twine.

Hopefully he will like the card - and I am sure the contents will be well received! I love EuroDisney - it seems ages since our European Stampin' Up! Convention which was held there in 2011.

Paras 10 - Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree and a Bog!

Paras 10 - Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree and a Bog!

I have made this card for all my lovely friends from 100% Physical Training owned by the AWESOME Gemma Lancaster and everyone else who is running or tabbing the Paras 10 today. You are all amazing (and mad!)

I used Lovely as a Tree - this has to be one of the most versatile Stampin' Up! sets in the catalogue - so many possibilities.  The colours I used are Old Olive, Early Espresso & Soft Sky. I stamped the image on Whisper White card and then to produce the reflection I stamped onto a piece of acetate (I used the piece from the Stamp-a-ma-jig) and used that as my "stamp" to produce the reflection.

I then sponged the grass, mud (there will be lots of that!) and water - and used Gorgeous Grunge to add more texture.  The sentiment is from Just Sayin' cut using the Word Bubbles Framelits (available as a bundle saving you 15%). I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread round and popped the sentiment on using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I will be cheering them all on from afar and can't wait to hear how they all get on - I hope the bog isn't too bad!

Washi Tape & Stampin' Up! Just Sayin' Stamp Set

Washi Tape & Stampin' Up! Just Sayin' Stamp Set

The Stampin' Up! Team I am in "The Pinkies" have a fortnightly Creative Challenge and the current one is to use Washi Tape. Now obviously I have all the Stampin' Up! Washi Tape but never really know what to do with it!  I needed some cards to send out with orders so this project kind of morphed from that.

The notelets were easy peasy. I cut Very Vanilla card card bases (7.5cm x 15cm) so they fitted into the Stampin' Up Square Envelopes, a Coastal Cabana mat (7 x7 cm) and more Very Vanilla (6.5 x 6.5cm) for the top layer. I stamped Baked Brown Sugar splodges with Gorgeous Grunge and added stripes of Retro Fresh Designer Washi Tape. The sentiment is from the Just Sayin' stamp set cut out using the Big Shot and the Word Bubble Framelits.

Well then I obviously had to make a box for them - so grabbed the Simply Scored Scoring Tool and came up with this to fit the notelets. The slope was a "happy accident" as I added up my measurements incorrectly - I quite like it!  I love the Ruffle Stretch Trim for making belly bands and zig-zagged two pieces together on my sewing machine (so it still stretches).

So what do you think? Quick and easy to make - and would be a cute gift to give to someone.

Stampin' Up! Uk - Circles with Bright Blossoms

Stampin' Up! Uk - Circles with Bright Blossoms

My mission to use ALL my stamps before the new Stampin' Up! catalogue is released in July is still ongoing. I am slightly embarrassed to admit that my Bright Blossoms stamp set has sat unused on my shelf since we were given it at a Stampin' Up! event in 2012! In my slight defence it is not a set I would have bought but as I own it - I have to use it!

When I saw this week's Mojo Monday sketch I had an idea to use the circle stamp from the set to create a background paper to coordinate with the circles in the sketch.  In fact I ended up using lots of circles and dots.

The colours I used were Smoky Slate, Wisteria Wonder & Perfect Plum.  I punched the circles from the Designer Series Paper Stacks and the background card was embossed using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from the Just Sayin' stamp set cut out using the Word Bubbles Framelits - love love love these & don't forget you can buy them as a bundle and save 15%. A piece of Wisteria Wonder Chevron Ribbon is knotted across the top to finish the card.

Stampin' Up! Uk - Just Sayin' with Shaving Foam!

Stampin' Up! Uk - Just Sayin' with Shaving Foam!

Speech bubbles are bang on trend at the moment and great for both cards and scrap-booking, so I was super-excited when I saw the Just Sayin' stamp set with MATCHING Word Bubbles framelits in the Spring / Summer Catalogue from Stampin' Up! Even better - if you buy them together as a bundle you can SAVE 15%.

I made this card for my swap at our Pinkies Craft Weekend in Birmingham as it also featured a technique I was demoing - the Shaving Foam Technique - isn't it cute?

The card background was embossed using the Arrows Embossing Folder, a piece of Pistachio Pudding Ruffle Stretch Trim and Linen Thread wound round and then matted onto Pistachio Pudding card and a Note Card.  The sentiments were stamped in Jet Black StazOn ink onto the patterned card and cut out using the Word Bubbles framelits.

So how did I make the patterned background? Well you need a tin of Shaving Foam (not gel!) and some Classic Stampin' Ink Refills.  If you click on the picture below you can enlarge it to see more details.. You can make some amazing colour combinations - or why not just use one colour for a different effect?

I used Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding so I could enter this card into the Around the World Colour Challenge (AW14).
