A Birthday Card with Stampin' Up! Create a Cupcake

A Birthday Card with Stampin' Up! Create a Cupcake

A birthday card for you today using the Stampin' Up! Create a Cupcake stamp set.  The colours I have used are Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Strawberry Slush. The cupcake sprinkles were stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. I lined up the icing and cake case using the Stamp-a-ma-jig. The film frame is cut using the On Film Framelits Dies and Big Shot - I love these dies!

The rectangular panel is a piece of Raspberry Ripple Core'dinations which I ran through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and then distressed the dots with the Stampin' Sanding Block.  Two circles were cut using the Circles Collections Framelits - one using the dotty paper from the 2012-14 DSP Paper Stack and the other in Silver Glimmer Paper - isn't it sparkly?

The sentiment was stamped and cut into a banner using Paper Snips. A Rhinestone Basic Jewel is the "cherry" on the card!

I hadn't used this stamp set before - there is also a matching Cupcake Builder Punch so I might have to get that as well!

Stampin' Up! Uk - See Ya Later

Stampin' Up! Uk - See Ya Later

Today's card is Sale-a-bration product heavy! I can't believe that Stampin' Up!'s biggest promotion ends tomorrow (31st March 2014) - the cut-off time for orders is 10pm so don't miss out!

So to the card - I embossed a piece of Whisper White with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I am so pleased this item will be available again in the NEW Annual Catalogue (Due out on 1 July 2014).

I inked up the alligator image from the See Ya Later stamp set using Stampin' Write Markers (Old Olive and Soft Suede) and cut it out so it would mat on a label cut using the Apothecary Accents Framelits. The "Love" image from Banner Blast was stamped and punched out using the Banner Punch (another item returning in July!).

I wound Summer Starfuit Twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack round the embossed card, added the sentiment piece and finished it with a flower cut using the Floral Fusion Sizzlits and a cute In Color Dahlia in Summer Starfruit. These will definitely retire in June as we will be getting new "In Colors" in July - exciting!

Here are the main Stampin' Up! supplies used to make today's card. Remember you can now order online if you prefer - if you click on the image you will be directed to my online store where you can pop them into your shopping basket. If you would prefer not to order online please either email me or give me a call on07530 368466 and I will be happy to help.

Mojo with Stampin' Up! Serene Salutations!

Have you taken advantage of the fabulous recruiting offer yet? Join Stampin' Up! for just £25 - seriously you won't get a better offer. More details here.

So on to today's card! Sharon is the accompanist for Colchester Military Wives Choir and we would be seriously lost without her so I wanted a card we could all sign for her birthday.

Mojo Monday is a Card Sketch Challenge blog which releases a new sketch every Monday so I am using it for inspiration.

I used a stamp from the Serene Silhouettes Stamp Set. It was coloured using Stampin' Write Markers (Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake & Old Olive) and stamped onto Very Vanilla card. The edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink. This piece & a piece of Naturals Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper was then mounted on various card mats (Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake & Very Vanilla).  I used the sheet with the musical score on it as that seemed appropriate!

A second piece of Very Vanilla card was run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder, matted onto Elegant Eggplant card and a Crumb Cake card base. The flags are cut from a piece of the Elegant Eggplant dotty paper in the Regals Color Collections Paper Stack and the tails punches using the Hexagon Punch.  A piece of Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon finished off the card.

This is the Mojo Monday sketch I used for inspiration - I love using sketches as a card base as I can just focus on the content!

Here is a list of the Stampin' Up! supplies used to make today's card. Don't forget you can now order online if you prefer - if you click on the items you will be directed to my online store where you can pop them into your shopping basket:

Stampin' Up! Creative Tour Swap

Wow - what a fantastic night I had last night! I attended the Stampin' Up! Creative Tour in Ipswich with 50 lovely demonstrators. We had inspiration, crafting, laughter and freebies - what more could you want?

A huge part of Stampin' Up! Events is "swapping". This is where you make a batch of identical card fronts or 3-d items to exchange with fellow demonstrators so you end up with lots of ideas showcasing different stamps, styles and techniques. These were the swaps I made using the Santa's List Stamp Set :-

I wasn't sure about this set when I saw it in the Stampin' Up! Autumn Winter Catalogue - but having seen some great samples I bought it and I am so glad I did! He is such a cheerful Father Christmas!

The image was stamped in Basic Grey ink onto Naturals White card and cut out using the using the Big Shot & Circles Collection Framelits.  The layers were also cut using framelits - a second circle in Smoky Slate, and a Basic Grey piece using Apothecary Accents.  A second piece of Naturals White was run through the Big Shot using the Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I love this folder - is it just me or does anyone else wonder what it says?.

The card base is Basic Black with a Melon Mambo mat - I love the pop of colour.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey and accented with a Melon Mambo punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack - a Rhinestone Basic Jewel finishes it off - after all Christmas cards need a bit of sparkle! The "tail" was punched using the Hexagon Punch.

The edges were all sponged with Smoky Slate ink to give an aged look and the finishing touch was some paper piercing using the template from the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack - you can see the piecing better in the photo below.  The layers were popped up using Dimensionals to finish the card.

Hope you like it?  I received some fabulous swaps in return which I will share with you in the next few days.

Pinkies Autumn Winter Catalogue Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Autumn/Winter Seasonal Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Hopefully you have arrived from Suzette's blog. I love the card she has made with the Snow Day Stamp Set.

So let's get "hopping"!  I am using the Halloween Happiness Stamp - a single stamp which retails at £8.95 and the Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit

The Halloween Happiness stamp was coloured using Stampin' Write Markers in Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit & Cajun Craze and stamped onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. The image was cut out using the Ovals Collection Framelits and the Magnetic Platform (which I am DELIGHTED to say is available to order again!). A Pumpkin Pie mat was cut using a larger oval framelit and run through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing FolderThe image was stamped again in Cajun craze ink and one of the pumpkins cut out and popped up on dimensionals to give a bit of depth.

The Witches' Brew Designer Series Paper is perfect for Halloween cards (obviously!) and I wanted to use a variety of the patterns on this card to show how fabulous it is.  Two pieces were matted onto Summer Starfruit cardstock to give some contrast a third piece was added to a Basic Black card base.

A piece of Natural Trim and a Linen Thread bow finish off the card.

I absolutely love the Simply Created Kits in the Autumn Winter Catalogue (p32) - they make it so quick and easy to put together small gifts - crafting doesn't have to be complicated!

The kit contains enough elements to make 10 goodie bags: die-cut Kraft tags, Whisper White banners, Pumpkin Pie stickers, Twine and the Cellophane bags.

I stamped the banner using a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and decorated the tag using the stickers. The bag was filled with halloween-coloured jelly beans (and no - I didn't eat the other colours!!) and tied with the twine.

How easy would these be to do for Halloween parties?

Here is a list of the Stampin' Up! products used to make today's project:

Stamp Sets: Halloween Happiness, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
DSP: Witches' Brew
Big Shot: Ovals Collection Framelits, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder
Other: Pumpkin Pie Goodie Gear Simply Created Kit, Natural Trim, Linen Thread

If you would like to order any of these products please either email me or give me a call on 07530 368466 and I will be happy to help.

I am really pleased with how these turned out and anyone attending my workshops in October will be getting a Halloween Treat bag so make sure you get your invite!  I would love to hear what you think so please leave me a comment!

The next stop is Traci who has used the Festive Flurry stamp set and dies - I LOVE her cards!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop and have a crafty weekend!

Partial Die Cut with Stampin' Up! Framelits

I posted this card using the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set and promised you a tutorial to show how to do a partial cut using the Stampin' Up! Framelits.

I used the Ovals Collection Framelits available in the Spring / Summer Catalogue. I add a piece of magnetic sheet to the pack which helps hold the dies in place.

Stamp the image to one side of a piece of card stock.  You need to use an image which is relatively easy to cut round (unless you like fiddly cutting!)

Select the size of Framelit you wish to use and place it over the image.

Using a pencil, draw round the inside of the Framelit up to the image.

Carefully cut round the image inside the pencil line using Paper Snips. You will need to cut along the image past the pencil line so that when you slip the die UNDER the cut out image you can line up the die with the pencil line.

Run this through the Big Shot using the normal sandwich for Framelits (you can use a sticky note to keep the die in place).

Remove the framelit and you are left with a partial cut out.

Here is another card I made using the same technique and a different stamp set - Henry Says.  The elephant's truck is perfect for cutting round.  I hope you will agree he is rather cute!

Hopefully this tutorial makes sense - if you have any questions please leave me a comment.

Tea Shoppe Swap using Partial Cutting Technique

I have finally got round to taking some photos and have some cards to share with you! I made this card for my swap at the Pinkies Team Weekend in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago.  I used the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set which is one of my favourites. I also used the Ovals Collection Framelits and a technique called partial cutting which I love!

The cup image was stamped onto Naturals Ivory card using Not Quite Navy Ink (sadly retiring). A partial oval was then cut out using the Big Shot and one of the framelits. I have done a tutorial to show you how to do this - so make sure you pop back this weekend.

The flower image was then stamped over the card using River Rock ink (another retiring colour) to create the background and the edges sponged in the same colour ink. A piece of River Rock card was run through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder. The card base is Not Quite Navy.  The sentiment was cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits and embellished using a flower from the fabulous Flower Trim - I love this product! A Not Quite Navy 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon bow and some Pearl Basic Jewels finished off the card.

We had a blast in Birmingham! I love my Pinkie friends and we didn't stop laughing or crafting all weekend. We also got to meet some of the lovely Dutch ladies - thank you Caroline for the photo above! Take a peek at Caro's blog - she is a hugely talented crafter.

Here is a list of the Stampin' Up! Products used to make today's card:
Stamp Sets: Tea Shoppe
Inks: Not Quite Navy, River Rock
Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Not Quite Navy, River Rock
Punches: Corner
Big Shot: Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Oval Collection Framelits
Other: Not Quite Navy 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Flower Trim, Pearl Basic Jewels

Don't forget that the discontinued colours (card, ink and accessories) are only available while stocks last so don't leave it too late if you NEED to stock up on your favourites!
