Retirement Card with Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

Retirement Card with Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

I wanted to make a retirement card for my lovely GP who retires at the end of this month. As soon as I saw this week's Mojo Monday Sketch I knew which Stampin' Up! stamp set I was going to use - it had to be Lovely as a Tree.  The colours used are Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz.

I followed the sketch exactly for this one. The background was stamped using the Hardwood stamp onto Very Vanilla card.  I coloured the tree image using Stampin' Write Markers - I covered the whole tree in Pear Pizzazz and then used Old Olive to pick out certain areas. I cut the image out using the Big Shot and the Circles Collection Framelits. As I was going for a vintage look I used Core'dinations and sanded the edges.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments punched out using the Word Window punch. I finished the card with Candy Dots and Linen Thread - which seems to feature in rather a lot of my cards!

I hope he liked it and has a long and happy retirement.

Where's he going? An Easter Bunny with Stampin' Up! Punches

Where's he going? An Easter Bunny with Stampin' Up! Punches

Happy Easter! I wanted to make a fun card for today. I don't normally do "cutesy" but the dogs and I saw loads of rabbits when we were walking early the other morning and their cotton tails made me smile as they hopped away!

I used the Hardwood stamp to make the fence (Early Espresso ink on Baked Brown Sugar card) and added some Old Olive "lichens" using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  The hole was cut using the Circles Collection Framelits. I then grabbed some punches and had a play to make a bunny bottom and head.  Lots of sponging and gluing later I came up with the design.

The card was finished by stamping the grass from the Wetlands stamp set - after all the grass is always greener on the other side!

If you click on the picture below you can see which Stampin' Up! Punches I used to make the bunny.

So what do you think? Hopefully the recipients liked them!

Stampin' Up! Uk - Dress Up Framelits

Stampin' Up! Uk - Dress Up Framelits

I wanted to showcase some of the fabulous products in this week's Stampin' Up! Weekly Deals. This card uses the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder to create a border and the super-cute Dress Up Framelits to cut out the dress and stand.

A piece of Naturals White was run through the Big Shot in the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and the edges sponged with Crumb Cake to make the embossing "pop". This was matted on Raspberry Ripple card and a Baked Brown Sugar card base.

The stand was cut from Baked Brown Sugar card and stamped using the Hardwood stamp. I cut the dress from a Tea Lace Paper Doily and used extra pieces to give the skirt some layers. The dress was sponged with Crumb Cake ink and finished with a bow in Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon. A string of Basic Pearl Jewels add a final touch. The dress is mounted on a piece of Raspberry Ripple paper from the 2012-14 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack cut using an Ovals Collection Framelit

To finish the inside of the card I used the Viola's Lace Builder Wheel stamp - so pretty.
