A Moonlight Scene with Stampin' Up! Wetlands

A Moonlight Scene with Stampin' Up! Wetlands

Several of my Military Wives Choir friends are doing the Moonwalk in London tonight so I wanted to make a card to let them know I will be thinking of them! I wanted the moon to be the feature on this card so I know it isn't technically correct and should be behind the hills!  And I used purple as that is the choir colour!

I started by stamping the grass using a stamp from the Wetlands stamp set and VersaMark - I heat embossed this with Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and then over stamped with Black StaxOn ink. I made a mask of the moon and some hills using sticky notes and then added ink using a Brayer. The colours used are Perfect Plum, Smoky Slate and Soft Sky. I added a bit of texture to the bottom section with a a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge. The sentiment is from Million and One - and is so true! Every single lady doing the Moonwalk tonight is fabulous!

I cut the sentiment out using a framelit from Apothecary Accents, matted it on Basic Black card and attached using Silver Ribbon

So what do you think? I need to perfect my Brayering technique - You Tube here I come!

Good luck to EVERYONE Moonwalking tonight! It will be an amazing experience.

Where's he going? An Easter Bunny with Stampin' Up! Punches

Where's he going? An Easter Bunny with Stampin' Up! Punches

Happy Easter! I wanted to make a fun card for today. I don't normally do "cutesy" but the dogs and I saw loads of rabbits when we were walking early the other morning and their cotton tails made me smile as they hopped away!

I used the Hardwood stamp to make the fence (Early Espresso ink on Baked Brown Sugar card) and added some Old Olive "lichens" using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  The hole was cut using the Circles Collection Framelits. I then grabbed some punches and had a play to make a bunny bottom and head.  Lots of sponging and gluing later I came up with the design.

The card was finished by stamping the grass from the Wetlands stamp set - after all the grass is always greener on the other side!

If you click on the picture below you can see which Stampin' Up! Punches I used to make the bunny.

So what do you think? Hopefully the recipients liked them!

Stampin' Up! Uk - A Sweet Sorbet Sale-a-bration

Stampin' Up! Uk - A Sweet Sorbet Sale-a-bration

I love the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper available for FREE during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration when you spend £45 (excluding P&P).  I have used the floral papers in the pack on lots of projects so wanted to try some of the others.

The sentiment is from the wonderfully versatile Wetlands stamp set - stamped and punched out using the Large Oval Punch. I cut a label from DSP using the Apothecary Accents Famelits and matted it onto Basic Black card and made it into a tag by punching a hole with the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack

This was tied round another piece of matted DSP using Pool Party Seam Binding. I just love the way this ribbon ties.

To add some texture I ran a piece of Summer Starfruit card through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder and tore down the edges. Have you noticed - NO sponging on this card!  I finished it off with floral accents using another punch from Itty Bitty Shapes and Pool Party Candy Dots.

Stampin' Up! UK - a Wetlands Goose

Stampin' Up! UK - a Wetlands Goose

I think I can confidently say that the Wetlands Stamp Set is my favourite ever Stampin' Up! stamp set! You saw me using one of the other bird image in this post.

This card is far simpler than it looks and just involved stamping, masking and sponging to get the sunset effect. The Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set was used to add some definition to the sand and sea. The background was Naturals White Card embossed using the NEW Texture Boutique Embossing Machine - this is a fabulous tool if you want something lightweight for embossing.  The Burlap Ribbon, Natural Chevron Ribbon & Linen Thread are great for providing different textures.

Pinkies Training Swaps Using Stampin' Up! Wetlands Stamp Set

Wow! What an great day I had yesterday! I was in Bicester for the Pinkies Quarterly Training.  I love Stampin' Up! training - what could be better than spending a whole day with like-minded people? We had a great mix of business training, inspiration, crafting, laughing (lots!) and there was also cake! (If any of my 100% Bootcamp friends are reading this then don't worry - I didn't have cake!)

One thing which also always happens at Stampin' Up! events is swapping. This is where you make a batch of identical card fronts or 3-d items to exchange with fellow demonstrators so you end up with lots of ideas showcasing different stamps, styles and techniques.  These were the swaps I made using the Wetlands Stamp Set :-

The background was so easy to do but looks really effective. I used the "direct-to-paper" technique with the Soft Sky, Crumb Cake and Smoky Slate Ink Pads and simply swiped the edges of them on a piece of Naturals White Card Stock to make a "seascape".  The image of the waders was stamped using Basic Black Ink. The sentiment is also in the stamp set - again stamped in Basic Black and punched using the Large Oval Punch.

A notch was punched using a punch from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and a piece of Linen thread wrapped round the card and knotted. The sentiment was popped up on dimensionals and the card front matted onto a piece of Basic Grey and a Basic Black card base.

Wetlands really is a versatile set - it contains 6 stamps - 3 sentiments and 3 images:-
