Retirement Card with Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

Retirement Card with Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree

I wanted to make a retirement card for my lovely GP who retires at the end of this month. As soon as I saw this week's Mojo Monday Sketch I knew which Stampin' Up! stamp set I was going to use - it had to be Lovely as a Tree.  The colours used are Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Pear Pizzazz.

I followed the sketch exactly for this one. The background was stamped using the Hardwood stamp onto Very Vanilla card.  I coloured the tree image using Stampin' Write Markers - I covered the whole tree in Pear Pizzazz and then used Old Olive to pick out certain areas. I cut the image out using the Big Shot and the Circles Collection Framelits. As I was going for a vintage look I used Core'dinations and sanded the edges.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments punched out using the Word Window punch. I finished the card with Candy Dots and Linen Thread - which seems to feature in rather a lot of my cards!

I hope he liked it and has a long and happy retirement.

Swapping with Stampin' Up! and Gorgeous Grunge

Swapping with Stampin' Up! and Gorgeous Grunge

Busy busy busy! So today I am in Telford for Stampin' Up! Regional Training. Then spending the rest of the weekend with family - what could be nicer?

One thing which also always happens at Stampin' Up! events is swapping. This is where you make a batch of identical card fronts or 3-d items to exchange with fellow demonstrators so you end up with lots of ideas showcasing different stamps, styles and techniques.

I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. The colours used are Pistachio Pudding, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  I stamped randomly with Gorgeous Grunge to create the background. The sentiment is stamped and cut out using the Big Shot & a die from the On Film Framelits - the Big Shot Magnetic Platform makes this so easy to line up and you know it won't move! I matted it onto two Scallop Circle Punches (7/8" & 1 1/4") with Linen Thread popped behind.

Hopefully everyone who receives one will like it - I love swapping and can't wait to share the ones I receive with you.

Stampin' Up! Uk - Bright Blossoms for Easter

Stampin' Up! UK - Bright Blossoms for Easter

So the Daffodil Delight Seam Binding Ribbon was still on my desk from my last card and in my quest to actually USE my Designer Series Paper rather than just stroking it I found this one which was perfect for a quick Easter card using Stampin' Up!'s Bright Blossoms stamp set.  I coloured the images using Stampin' Write Markers (Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz & Daffodil Delight) and lined the flowers up with the Stamp-a-ma-jig (have you got yours yet!)  I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to create a tag and layered the image onto it. The DSP is one of the subtler designs from Gingham Garden.

I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, punched it out using the Word Window Punch and cut the cute banner using a die from the Label Card Thinlits Die. The card was finished with Daffodil Delight Seam Binding and a tiny Baker's Twine bow.

Here are the main Stampin' Up! supplies used to make today's card. Stampin' Up! UK - Sale-a-bration Ending Soon

Stampin' Up! UK - Sale-a-bration Ending Soon

I can't believe that there is only 5 days left of Sale-a-bration which is Stampin' Up!s biggest promotion of the year - so if you haven't ordered yet don't leave it too long!

I thought of today's card in the middle of the night so had to get up to make it! The cork pieces and gorgeous Pool Party twine are both from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack which you can get for FREE with an order of £45 (excluding P&P).  I cut notches using the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack so the twine didn't move around. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments punched out with the Word Window punch. The card base is Pool Party to match the twine.

How cute is the little bow? The twine is so easy to use and you also get 9m of Crisp Cantaloupe and Summer Starfruit Twine in the pack.

Here are the main Stampin' Up! supplies used to make today's card. Stampin' Up! UK Convention Swaps

Stampin' Up! UK Convention Swaps

Wow! What a fantastic few days I have had in Manchester at the 2013 Stampin' Up! European Convention!

One thing which also always happens at Stampin' Up! events is "swapping". This is where you make a batch of identical card fronts or 3-d items to exchange with fellow demonstrators so you end up with lots of ideas showcasing different stamps, styles and techniques. I made 100 Gift Tags to swap - that is all of them in the picture above!

I have realised that I didn't take a picture of an individual tag but you get the gist from the picture above!  The cute baby grows are from the Baby Tees Jumbo wheel, stamped in Chocolate Chip ink onto Whisper White card and coloured using the In Color 2012-2014 Stampin' Write Markers and a Blender Pen.  They were then "fussy cut" using the fabulous Paper Snips - now this was a good idea when I started - after cutting out 200 I was not so sure!  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, stamped and punched out using the Word Window Punch and layered on a piece of matching In Color card punched with the Modern Label Punch.

The baby grows were mounted on circles cut using the Circles Collection Framelits from the Designer Series Paper Stack and Whisper White card. The tag base was cut from Chocolate Chip card using the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. A piece of Satin Stitched Ribbon tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine finished the tag.

Thank you to everyone who swapped with me! And a huge thank you to my lovely husband for his help with the Big Shot!

Don't forget you can now order online - Click Here to be directed to my online store where you can shop to your heart's content!

I am of course still more than happy for you to contact me directly to order any products if you would prefer, please either email me or give me a call on07530 368466.  Thank you!

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree - Less is More!

A really simple card from me today! I seem to have been making cards with lots of layers and sponging recently so I have gone for something totally different!  The challenge this week on the Less is More blog is Trees. This is what I came up with:

The background was really easy - a Clear-Mount Block was inked-up using a Soft Sky ink pad, spritzed with water and then "stamped" onto a piece of Whisper White card and left to dry. The tree image is from the Lovely as a Tree Stamp Set. It was stamped in Early Espresso ink using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to ensure perfect placement!

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments - again the trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig was used. I am not sure how I managed before I discovered this fabulous tool!

The base card is the Note Cards and Envelopes - these are perfect when you need a quick card.  You get 20 heavier weight Whisper White cards and Envelopes in the pack.

Hopefully it meets the criteria for the challenge - definitely not my usual style - but that is what challenges are about surely!

Here is a list of the Stampin' Up! supplies used to make today's card. Don't forget you can now order online if you prefer - if you click on the items you will be directed to my online store where you can pop them into your shopping basket:

Cardstock: Whisper White
