Treat Box with T Lights and Stampin' Up! Washi Tape

Today's project is a cute box containing decorated T Lights - a perfect thank you gift. I first saw this idea demonstrated by Amanda Fowler at a Pinkies team training event a couple of years ago - thank you Amanda!

With the introduction of the Simply Scored Scoring Tool this box is now super speedy to make.  I have done a quick tutorial to show how easy it is.

The box base was made from a piece of Calypso Coral card cut to 7 1/2" x 4 3/4": ( I am so glad this colour is staying with us as part of the Colour Refresh!)

Score on each side at 3/4" and 1 1/2":

Fold and cut along the score lines as shown:

Assemble the box using Tombow Multipurpose Glue or Sticky Strip (I prefer the glue as it gives you a bit of "slide")

The sleeve is a piece of Baja Breeze (retiring so get it while you can!) card cut to 6" x 4 1/2"

Stamp the card - here an image from the Bordering on Romance stamp set was stamped all over using Baja Breeze ink.

Score at 7/8", 2 3/4", 3 5/8" and 5 1/2" as shown:

Using a Framelit from Apothecary Accents Framelits and the Big Shot cut an aperture in the sleeve. Stick a piece of Window Sheet behind the aperture to prevent the contents falling out of the box!

Fold along the score marks and stick the sleeve together.

A tag was stamped using the sentiment from Kindness Matters and cut out using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. Punch out a flower using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack finish with a Pearl Basic Jewel.

Have you noticed the T Lights have had a make-over? I used the fabulous NEW Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape to decorate them. A genius idea suggested by the super talented Sam Donald.  And of course because this is Stampin' Up! the Calypso Coral colour matches perfectly!

The box was then tied up with a piece of the gorgeous Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon. And there you go - all ready to go!

Hope you find this useful - I would love to hear from you if you make this so don't forget to leave me a comment.

Thank You with Stampin' Up! Paper Doily Sizzlits

Today's card is one I made for new team members to say "Thank you" for joining my Stampin' Up! team.  I had to buy the Paper Doily Sizzlits as soon as I saw it - I just love the detail.

The doily was cut from Very Vanilla Card using the Big Shot. One tip is to use the Simply Scored Stylus to help poke out all the fiddly bits - it also helps if you roll the cut piece slightly to help the pieces "ping" out. It is not a die for the neat and tidy to use!  A piece of Baja Breeze (retiring) card stock was embossed using the Vintage Wallpaper Folder and sponged with Crumb Cake Ink.  The card base is Crumb Cake..

The sentiment is from the Blooming With Kindness Stamp Set and was punched out using the 1 1/4" Circle Punch and layered onto a mat cut using Apothecary Accents Framelits.  More sponging and a couple of Pearl Basic Jewels finished it nicely.

The bow is made using Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Linen Thread and an Antique Brad

A very simple card but I love the vintage look so I was pleased with this - hopefully the recipients also liked them.

Here is a list of the Stampin' Up! Products used to make today's card:

Stamp Sets: Blooming with Kindness
Inks: Crumb Cake
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla
Punches: Corner, 1 1/4" Circle
Big Shot: Apothecary Accents Framelits, Dress Up Framelits, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
Other: Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Linen Thread, Antique Brads, Pearl Basic Jewels

Don't forget that the discontinued colours (card, ink and accessories) are only available while stocks last so don't leave it too late if you NEED to stock up on your favourites!

Join Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator!

Have you been reading about the fabulous time we all had in Telford at Stampin' Up!'s Regional Event?  Why not think about joining Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator and you would be able to come along to similar events. This year the European Convention is taking place in Manchester and is not to be missed.  Stampin' Up! are celebrating their 25th Anniversary so I think we will be in for a real treat!

Joining Stampin Up! is one of the best things I have ever done (my husband might object if I said it was THE best thing!). I have met lots of lovely people - some whom I am lucky to count among my closest friends, I have attended some inspirational events and I get to buy fantastic quality products at a discount! Being a Demonstrator saves me money!

The Starter Kit is currently even better value than normal. Until 30th May 2013 you can chose an extra £25 of products from either catalogue - that is £155 of products in total PLUS a business kit worth £45 - wow!

I also give all new team members a "welcome to my team kit" which includes samples of all the card stock, a pretty personalised notebook, handbook, samples and most importantly - chocolate!

There are so many benefits to being a Demonstrator - why not drop me an email or call me on 07530 368466 for an informal chat. I would love to tell you all about it or if you would prefer you can read more on how to join my team.

Dress Up Swaps - Stampin' Up! Telford Training Event

Wow! What a fantastic day I had yesterday. Stampin' Up! hold regular training events for their Demonstrators and yesterday the UK training event was in Telford, Shropshire.  I travelled there with two of my team, my downline Hannah and her downline Nikki. It was their first Stampin' Up! event so I was super excited for them.  There were over 300 demonstrators attending which made for a fantastic atmosphere - what can be better than spending the day with people who also love Stampin' Up!?

Swapping is a popular activity at Stampin' Up! events - you make say 30 cards of the same design and exchange them with other demos so you end up with 30 different cards. It is a fabulous way of getting samples showing a range of styles, stamps and techniques. It is also a great way to meet people!

I used the Dress Up Framelits to make my swaps. The little dresses are so cute.

I made card fronts in a range of colours using the Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper Stack - which is your favourite colour?

I received some lovely swaps in exchange which I will share with you this week - thank you to everyone who swapped with me.

We had such an amazing day. The day was jam-packed with presentations by Demonstrators and Stampin' Up! staff, sneak peaks from the the NEW 2013/2014 Annual Catalogue (released on 1 July 2013) - you are going to LOVE it, exciting announcements (and no I can't tell you yet!) and of course some crafting! And, as if that wasn't enough, we were all given a gorgeous free stamp set too.

I love being part of the Stampin' Up! family and in particular the Pinkies Team.   I got to catch up with old friends and make new ones. I cannot wait until the next event which is the Stampin' Up! European Convention. This is being held in Manchester in November - two whole days of Stampin' Up! fun and crafting.  If you are interesting in coming along too, why not email me for information about becoming a Demonstrator yourself or check the details here.  Joining Stampin' Up! really is one of the best things I have ever done!

Here is a list of the Stampin' Up! Products used to make today's card:

Stamp Sets: Tea Shoppe, Confetti
Inks: Crumb Cake, Assorted Subtles Collection Colours

Partial Die Cut with Stampin' Up! Framelits

I posted this card using the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set and promised you a tutorial to show how to do a partial cut using the Stampin' Up! Framelits.

I used the Ovals Collection Framelits available in the Spring / Summer Catalogue. I add a piece of magnetic sheet to the pack which helps hold the dies in place.

Stamp the image to one side of a piece of card stock.  You need to use an image which is relatively easy to cut round (unless you like fiddly cutting!)

Select the size of Framelit you wish to use and place it over the image.

Using a pencil, draw round the inside of the Framelit up to the image.

Carefully cut round the image inside the pencil line using Paper Snips. You will need to cut along the image past the pencil line so that when you slip the die UNDER the cut out image you can line up the die with the pencil line.

Run this through the Big Shot using the normal sandwich for Framelits (you can use a sticky note to keep the die in place).

Remove the framelit and you are left with a partial cut out.

Here is another card I made using the same technique and a different stamp set - Henry Says.  The elephant's truck is perfect for cutting round.  I hope you will agree he is rather cute!

Hopefully this tutorial makes sense - if you have any questions please leave me a comment.

Tea Shoppe Swap using Partial Cutting Technique

I have finally got round to taking some photos and have some cards to share with you! I made this card for my swap at the Pinkies Team Weekend in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago.  I used the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set which is one of my favourites. I also used the Ovals Collection Framelits and a technique called partial cutting which I love!

The cup image was stamped onto Naturals Ivory card using Not Quite Navy Ink (sadly retiring). A partial oval was then cut out using the Big Shot and one of the framelits. I have done a tutorial to show you how to do this - so make sure you pop back this weekend.

The flower image was then stamped over the card using River Rock ink (another retiring colour) to create the background and the edges sponged in the same colour ink. A piece of River Rock card was run through the Big Shot using the Honeycomb Embossing Folder. The card base is Not Quite Navy.  The sentiment was cut out using the Bitty Banners Framelits and embellished using a flower from the fabulous Flower Trim - I love this product! A Not Quite Navy 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon bow and some Pearl Basic Jewels finished off the card.

We had a blast in Birmingham! I love my Pinkie friends and we didn't stop laughing or crafting all weekend. We also got to meet some of the lovely Dutch ladies - thank you Caroline for the photo above! Take a peek at Caro's blog - she is a hugely talented crafter.

Here is a list of the Stampin' Up! Products used to make today's card:
Stamp Sets: Tea Shoppe
Inks: Not Quite Navy, River Rock
Cardstock: Naturals Ivory, Not Quite Navy, River Rock
Punches: Corner

Other: Not Quite Navy 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Flower Trim, Pearl Basic Jewels
